FFA National Convention

FFAffa2

On October 30th through November 1st the Garrard County FFA officer team and advisors traveled to Indianapolis, Indiana for the 92nd annual National FFA Convention and Expo. While attending, were able to speak with representatives from universities and agricultural companies from across the nation. We were also fortunate enough to tour Case IH and New Holland industrial depot. Here we learned how advanced technology has grown since 1892 when the first gasoline powered tractor was produced. We were able to discuss the rising popularity of tractors and agricultural equipment with automatic GPS systems that do not require a human sitting in the cab to operate it. One of our executive team members, Alex Miller, competed in the National FFA Talent Contest where he performed at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis where he also placed in the top 15. Every FFA trip is special but this trip was definitely one for the books! Our officer team coming together to discuss this upcoming year, how we will work together, and that as long as we try our hardest, it doesn’t matter if we win or lose as long as we learn something along the way. “Striving for success without hard work is like trying to harvest where you haven’t planted” - David Bly.
